The Philippine Embassy invites all Filipinos and friends in New Zealand in celebrating the 113th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and the 150th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal on Sunday, 12 June 2011 (10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) at the Wellington Indian Cultural Center, 48 Kemp St. Kilbirnie, Wellington.
Enjoy Philippine culture at its very best as there will be food stalls showcasing delicacies from the different regions of the Philippines, Philippine handicrafts, theatrical and cultural performances, art exhibits, live bands and dancing.
In line with the celebrations, the Embassy will also hold an On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest and an On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest on Sunday, 15 May 2011 at the St. Joseph ’s Parish Hall, Mt. Victoria , Wellington The contest is open to Filipinos and those of Filipino descent.
