High School Haunted House
I stumbled upon this photo set on Flickr showing Nightmare's Fear Factory's latest victims customers. My immediate thought was the cleverness in which the people behind this 'haunted house' use web technology to feature their product! Yeah, pretty lame first reaction I know. But it really is kind of compelling. I looked through some photos and the comments that followed (expect some really funny ones, but others can be brutal). One thing's for sure. The look on their faces are priceless and it did make me visit their website for more details (and, if I were in their area, might have considered buying tickets too!)

Disaster Preparedness Seminar organised by the Filipino Chaplaincy
The Filipino Chaplaincy has invited the Wellington Emergency Preparedness Office (WEMO) to conduct a Disaster Preparedness Seminar especially for Filipinos. It will be held on the 2nd of December, 5:30-7:00pm at Pearce Room, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mt.Victoria (Fr. Ambet's parish).
We never know when disaster will hit us, so it's best that we are prepared. This seminar will provide us with information and useful tips about what we need to do and what to prepare when disaster and calamities strike.
So do attend this FREE Seminar. Encourage other friends to attend too, so please pass this information on to your networks.

j'ai si peur
If you are looking for the translation of this French phrase, it means "I am so afraid".
And if you're looking for the translation of "Moi aussi. Vous n'ĂȘtes pas seul", it means "Me too. You're not the only one."
And my guess is you've been looking for these translations because of a postcard in this week's PostSecret :-).

DST blues
Daylight Saving Time (DST) officially ends today. This is the day we take back the time we "lost" when DST started late last year. But for us, it was not as simple as that unfortunately. We got all confused... should we wind back our time to an hour back, or an hour forward?
When things are bound to go wrong, things will go wrong. Some dude called Murphy said that, and he's right.
We turned back our clocks to an hour, and we ended waking up at 7:00 this morning but it was still pitch black outside! We checked the computer time but we were really dubious about this because a Windows fault has reset the DST at least a couple of weeks in advance so we felt we couldn't rely on it, even with Google search.
So we tuned in to BBC News on the telly. Luckily it announced world times, including New Zealand's. We were a couple of hours early from the actual time! It was only 5:30! We jumped back into bed. Good thing it's a Sunday! Zzzzz...

Earth Hour at Anawangin
What better way to spend Earth Hour than by a pristine beach far from civilization, under the bright stars? That's exactly what my trekking buddies did. We were in Camiguin Island last year, and now they went to Anawangin Cove in Zambales, the Philippines.
And they sent me this greeting from across the miles.

Wish I was there too! I miss my trekking buddies...
