Lego Castle Model No. 70400 Review

The Warehouse was offering Lego models at 20% off, and we thought it was a good idea to purchase a box, even if it was one of the smaller ones.  And when we spotted this Lego Castle box, we knew it was going to be a good one.  At $14.39, it's really a good deal because there's 4 minifigs in the box!  And add to that the accessories included in the set, this is indeed a nice find.

The Knights have nice details for their body armour.  The good guys wear silver armour, while the bad guys wear the dark armour.  That's stereotyping I guess, but one can switch sides too, no rules in that at all.  Weapons include a sword, spear, axe and mace.  A couple of shields are also included for good measure.
Even their backs have nice details.  Lego did a good job for this set.

The good guys have a two-wheeled wagon onto which a treasure chest fits snugly.  Gold coins and gems make this chest a very attractive haul.

The bad guys, on the other hand, are on stealth mode behind their mini fortress, camouflaged in shrubbery.  The nearby tree is ready to be felled when the good guys pass through, an ambush waiting to happen.  A harpoon and finger missiles form part of the arsenal.  But the knight perched on top of the tree is not too subtle!

A green apple and dog (good dog!) complete this set.

This is a real nice Lego box.  We've been looking at the Catalogue, and it looks like Lego Castle has loads more designs and affordable options than Lego Galaxy; we just might switch our spaceships and robots to a medieval theme!
